MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The raffle for Darko Milicic’s NBA championship ring and a trip to the 2011 NBA Finals will be held on Thursday.
The Minnesota Timberwolves center is raffling off his 2004 title ring won with Detroit and an all-expenses paid trip to a Finals game to raise money for the Zorana and Darko Milicic Fund for Children with Life Threatening Diseases.
Among the afflictions the fund focuses on is the terminal illness Batten’s disease. Batten’s is a neurological disorder that affects mostly children and gradually causes blindness, seizures and death.
Milicic pays for children to travel to China for stem cell treatment.
Raffle tickets cost $2. Those who still want to enter the drawing can go to www.celebritiesforcharity.org.
