Adele Postpones First Ave. Concert Due To Laryngitis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Pop star Adele has reportedly postponed her scheduled Thursday night concert at downtown Minneapolis nightclub First Avenue.

According to the club's Twitter account, the concert was postponed because the singer was not feeling well.

"Unfortunately tonight's Adele show has been postponed because she is very ill," read the tweet.

According to First Avenue's Facebook page, the concert has been rescheduled to June 22 and all original tickets will be honored.

The British Adele's new album 21 has been at the top of the pop charts for much of the year, and her single "Rolling in the Deep" remains at the top of many iTunes charts even though it's been out for six months.

First Avenue's Facebook page said "under doctor's orders, Adele will have to postpone her show this evening at First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN due to laryngitis." It also said she hopes that after two days of bed rest she can resume her sold out tour in Denver, Colo.

On the singer's website, she posted, "I've been told to cancel tonights show in Minneapolis because my voice has gone. I hate to cancel especially at such short notice. I am truly devastated, I'm here in the city and tried to do soundcheck at the venue but if I push through it tonight, it'll take me longer to get better and more shows may need cancelling. Please forgive me! We have rescheduled for June 22nd and all tickets will be honoured. I hope to see you all then!"
