WCCO-TV Delivers Ratings Growth During May Sweep


MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- WCCO-TV continues to show impressive growth in the morning, evening and late newscasts for the third consecutive major ratings period, it was announced today by Brien Kennedy, WCCO-TV Vice President and General Manager. WCCO 4 News is the most-watched newscast by a wide margin, in 5 out of 7 newscasts. WCCO 4 News is #1 in 5 out of the 7 newscasts in the key A25-54 demographic. And WCCO 4 News is #1 in 7 out of 7 newscasts in the key W25-54 demographic.

In the A25-54 demographic, WCCO 4 News at 10 is the only station in the market to show year-to-year growth, while its two closest competitors show declines. KARE-TV is down 17% and KSTP-TV is down 11% in audience share. This is a continuation of a two-year May sweeps growth trend for WCCO-TV with WCCO 4 News at 10 pm up 8% compared to May of 2010 and up 18% compared to May of 2009.
