Possible Tornado Touches Down In Sibley County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Severe weather roared its way through the southern half of Minnesota Saturday afternoon, less than a week after a tornado ripped through north Minneapolis and the northern Twin Cities.

A possible tornado touched down in Sibley County at about 3 p.m. near Gaylord. No damage has been reported at this time. The storm headed through Belle Plaine and eventually over to Prior Lake and Lakeville.

Hail ranging in size from pea to golf ball fell in Gibbon, Gaylord, Belle Plaine, Prior Lake and Lakeville. Ominous clouds were also seen in New Prague, Lonsdale, Jordan and Red Wing.

And we're not out of the woods for the weekend yet as thunderstorms remain a possibility for most of the weekend. For the latest severe weather update, see the WCCO.com Weather Page.
