Minneapolis Opens Office For Building Permits

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The city of Minneapolis is opening an office so residents of tornado-damaged neighborhoods can more easily get construction and repair permits.

The North Side Construction and Repair Permits Office opens Wednesday to help homeowners and licensed contractors working in the area.

The office is at Hamilton School at 4119 Dupont Ave. N. and will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Staff from city building and zoning offices will be on hand to help customers with their permitting requests.

The May 22 tornado destroyed more than 100 homes and damaged hundreds more in north Minneapolis.
