Fire Breaks Out At St. Louis Park Condo Complex

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (WCCO) – A fire broke out at a St. Louis Park apartment complex Tuesday afternoon and caused significant damage to several units, authorities said.

The fire, which happened at the Natchez Place Condos  in the 4600 block of Minnetonka Boulevard, was reported at around 3:30 p.m.

It was reported as a three-alarm fire. The St. Louis Park Fire Department responded to the scene and was assisted by the Minnetonka and Golden Valley Fire Departments.

A St. Louis Park Fire spokesperson said it became as large as a five-alarm fire, and there have been no significant injuries reported. The spokesperson said officials were most concerned about the heat and safety of firefighters battling the blaze.

Fire officials said the blaze was under control just before 5 p.m. and crews were dealing with hot spots. Firefighters were also given an extra supply of water because of the heat, and metro transit buses were brought in to let firefighters sit in air conditioning between trips into the affected areas.

The Natchez Place Condominiums are a three level, low-rise complex featuring 66 units.
