Corn Ice Cream, Chocolate Jalapenos Among New Fair Food

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota State Fair is more than two months away, but we're already getting a glimpse of some of the new foods coming to this year's fair. And surprise -- many of them come on a stick!

According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Blue Moon Dine-In Theater is whipping up sweet-corn ice cream. They said there are two cobs-worth of corn in each quart of the vanilla-based ice cream.

A new on-a-stick specialty will be served at Andrew's Watermelon Stand. They are spicing things up this year with chocolate-covered jalapenos.

For the lovers of all things deep fried and sweet, Sonny's Spiral Chips and Tornado Potatoes will be deep-frying chocolate chip cookie dough.

Some of the other creations include a breakfast lollipop from Axel's. It's a deep-fried sausage patty on a stick and served with maple syrup.

Fair goers will also find a  Grilled Yankee Apple Pie and chocolate sandwich covered with powdered sugar too.

The Great Minnesota Get-Together starts on August 25 and runs through Labor Day.
