MADELIA, Minn. (AP) — A funeral is set Friday for a southern Minnesota soldier killed in Iraq last week.

Twenty-year-old Spc. Emilio Campo Jr. will be laid to rest in his hometown of Madelia.

Campo was a 20-year-old medic who joined the U.S. Army to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. He was one of five soldiers who died June 6 in a rocket attack.

His funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Church in Madelia. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at St. Mary’s School in Madelia.

Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Madelia following the funeral.
