Woman Sentenced To 6 Years For Providing Lethal Drug

LITTLE FALLS, Minn. (WCCO) -- A 57-year-old woman has been sentenced to six years in prison for selling prescription painkillers to a Fort Ripley man, who later died.

Patricia Taylor, of Browerville, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in February. According to the Morrison County Attorney's Office, she admitted selling prescription Fentanyl patches to Jason Ramsdell in February of 2010.

The medication is designed to be released over a three-day period. Ramsdell was found dead with a Fentanyl patch in his mouth on the same day that he purchased the painkillers from Taylor.

Taylor will get credit for the 14 months she has already served in the Morrison County Jail.
