Long Range Forecaster Predicts Normal Summer

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A tornado has ripped through north Minneapolis and the temperature has reached 103. That's all happened before the official start of summer, which will be at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday. 

"I think we've already hit our high temperature for the summer when we hit 103. I don't think we're going to see that again," said Long Range Consulting Forecaster Frank Watson.

He said he expects average temperatures and rainfall in the coming months.

"It's not going to be a really hot summer. It's not going to be cold, but it's just not going to feel like it's a really hot, burning, summer," said Watson.

Watson said he also expects this summer to linger a little longer than last summer.
