Report: Wolves Will Fire Rambis Thursday
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Word is getting out that Kurt Rambis will no longer be the coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves as early as Thursday.
Yahoo! Sports is reporting that David Kahn, the team's president of basketball operations, is expected to relieve Rambis of his coaching duties sometime on Thursday.
The move comes with little surprise. The Timberwolves have been one of the worst teams in the NBA the last two seasons. Rambis went a combined 32-132 over that stretch. The Timberwolve's record of 17-65 was the NBA's worst last year.
Kahn officially introduced Ricky Rubio to the media on Tuesday, and Rambis was nowhere to be seen during the news conference. Rambis also wasn't expected to be around during Thursday night's NBA Draft.
Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the official move won't be made until after the draft on Thursday.
