UND Airplane Makes Safe Emergency Landing
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) -- A University of North Dakota airplane made an emergency landing at an airport in northwest Minnesota. The two people aboard were unharmed.
The Polk County Sheriff's Department tells the Grand Forks Herald that 24-year-old Jose Tavarez and 36-year-old Melvin Fultz smelled smoke early Thursday evening while on a training flight and safely landed the plane at the Fertile, Minn., airport.
