Weather Blog: More Sun Would Be Nice

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Our Saturday will feature plenty of clouds into the afternoon, thanks to an upper level disturbance.

Some spotty showers are also in the forecast, with steadier rains early Saturday afternoon over southeastern Minnesota.

We expect some occasional breaks in the clouds later Saturday.

On Sunday, a low pressure system approaches from the west. It could ignite some showers and thunderstorms by Sunday afternoon, especially over western and northern Minnesota.

Our best chance of thunderstorms in the Twin Cities doesn't arrive until Sunday evening/night, but an isolated thunderstorm could pop up in the afternoon. Periods of showers and thunderstorms are likely on Monday.  It sure would be nice to see a string of sunny days.
