Hastings Police Seek Mother, Son In Parental Abduction

HASTINGS, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police are asking for the public's help locating a woman and her son in an apparent parental abduction in Hastings.

Hastings Police say 5-year-old Timber Dimm and his mother, 44-year-old Wendi Lee Bartell Dimm, were last seen in the Hastings area on June 5. Since then, police have not been able to locate them.

Police said Bartell Dimm fled in order to keep her son from having court-order visitation with his father. On June 23, Bartell Dimm was charged by Dakota County with one felony of depriving another of parental or custodial rights.

A nationwide warrant has been issued for her arrest.

Timber Dimm is described as a white boy, about 3-feet tall and 40 pounds. He has a slight build with brown hair and brown eyes, with white and silver caps on his teeth.

Bartell Dimm is described as a 5-foot-3 white woman, weighing 145 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police said Bartell Dimm may be driving a black or dark-colored 1999 Saturn four-door sedan with Minnesota license plates, TRH-057.

Authorities said Bartell Dimm has a history of not complying with custody orders. In September 2010, police issued a statewide alert for her and Timber's whereabouts. She was located in Alexandria, Minn. on a routine traffic stop.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Hastings Police Department at 651-480-2300 or 911.
