WALKER, Minn. (AP) — Charges allege a northern Minnesota man broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and fatally shot her in the bedroom where she was sleeping with her two children.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ross Littlewolf of Cass Lake is charged with second-degree murder. Prosecutors allege Littlewolf fired a shotgun blast through a sliding glass door to enter the Cass Lake home of 22-year-old Kandace Blaine Dunn and then apparently shot her in the head early Sunday.

Dunn was sharing a room with her two young children — one of whom is also Littlewolf’s child.

Littlewolf also faces two counts of assault for allegedly aiming a shotgun at a couple who were sleeping in another bedroom.

Leech Lake tribal police arrested Littlewolf a short time later. He remains in jail and will be assigned a public defender.

I’m a Leech Lake tribal member and we don’t get diddly squat from our casinos. Just because one very small tribe gets payments from their casino doesn’t mean the rest of MN tribes do. Get over the stereotypes “punk”.!

this was a reply to a comment that was deleted, basically the person who commented was surprised about a native amaerican getting a public defender and said “use your casino money punk”

“Maybe the tribe can band together and use some of the money they make netting the lakes dry of walleye to get him a respectable lawyer”

There is no evidence to back your claim that damage is done to the walleye population by Native Americans exercising their treaty rights in those waters. Period.

    1. EDO says:

Classic sympathizer jargon… How can you remove 100,000+ pounds of fish and say there is no damage? Even at 5 lbs a fish that is 20000 fish removed that we wont even be given the oppertunity to catch. Plus I have seen first hand what happens. That 100000+ fish limit is for all fish taken, northerns, perch, sunfish or whatever. What do you suppose happens to the non-walleye species that are caught in the net? They go back into the lake…dead. So on top of the 100000+ pounds of walleye that come out, countless other fish go back in…dead. Save the political BS for some bleeding heart…
