Police: Wis. Man Arrested After Drinking, Crashing Car

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Wisconsin police arrested a man Sunday for allegedly driving drunk and crashing his car.

Police arrested Rodney Rossman, 54, of New Auburn, Wis., after officers from the Department of Natural Resources saw him walking along CTH East in Rusk County at around 5 p.m. The officers spoke with Rossman and discovered that he had crashed his car.

Police said they found the Rossman's car just south of Chippewa Avenue. Police said that Rossman failed to negotiate a curve, crashed into a telephone junction box and jumped a creek before coming to a stop.

Police said they found indications that Rossman had been drinking. After undergoing standard sobriety tests, Rossman was arrested.

Police then took Rossman to the Rusk County Memorial Hospital for a blood draw and then to the Rusk County Jail.

The incident is still under investigation.
