Police Investigate String Of Arson In South Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Police are investigating a string of fires they believe were deliberately set in south Minneapolis early Sunday morning.

According to police, the fires happened at three separate locations within a seven-block radius.

The fires happened on the 5600 block of Dupont Avenue South, the 5700 block of Pleasant Avenue South and the 5800 block of Pleasant Avenue South.

In all, five separate addresses were damaged by fires, with the total damage estimates believed to be in excess of $35,000.

Police ask anyone with any information about the cases contact their arson unit at 612-673-3389. They offer a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Strings of arson happen in other parts of the state too! There isn’t anymore crime in Minneapolis than anywhere else. If you don’t love Minneapolis like me then you are wrong about everything.

…find the one who did this and burn ’em……burn ’em alive….

  • Drunken Dissed Orderly

It was always a little shocking to see how these people lived in S. Mpls when I was a tree trimmer for NSP.

Along Chicago and Lake in the Phillips Neighborhood especially. Two out of three houses there have an old mattress in the back yard with used condoms littered all over the ground. Apparently they bring the ‘tutes back there for some action. I also got quite a collection of spent shell casings that I picked up right from the street out in front of the houses. Classy place, let me tell you.

How does “not” sound. What an arrogant exaggeration. Everybody knows AMs don’t use condoms! You could easily write for the ‘cco or any other garbage news outlet. I’m glad you are living on the outskirts birth children with 6 fingers…

These fires didn’t even happen anywhere near where you are talking about. Why would you talk about an area not even associated with the article?

      • M

Its rather sad that there are not comments of concern. Maybe that is why this is happening. No one looking out for each other.

  • UseActualPhotos

When is WCCO going to stop using these embarrassing photos to accompany their articles?

So the fires were started by a generic row of burning matches? Why post any photos at all if the ones you use have nothing to do with the story whatsoever?

The all-time best WCCO stock photo was for an article a few months back about someone who was bludgeoned to death with a baseball bat. The genius in charge of posting photos posted a stock photo of a bunch of baseball bats along with that article. Talk about idiots.
