Police Investigate String Of Arson In South Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are investigating a string of fires they believe were deliberately set in south Minneapolis early Sunday morning.

According to police, the fires happened at three separate locations within a seven-block radius.

The fires happened on the 5600 block of Dupont Avenue South, the 5700 block of Pleasant Avenue South and the 5800 block of Pleasant Avenue South.

In all, five separate addresses were damaged by fires, with the total damage estimates believed to be in excess of $35,000.

Police ask anyone with any information about the cases contact their arson unit at 612-673-3389. They offer a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
