Police Investigate Eden Prairie Homicide

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police are investigating an apparent homicide in Eden Prairie that happened overnight.

Authorities say rescue personnel were called to the 15000 block of North Hill Crest Court on a "drug-related" injury at about midnight.

Crews found a 42-year-old man unconscious at the home and he was taken to Fairview Southdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Twenty-nine-year-old Melanie Lynn Razo was arrested for probable cause third-degree murder. She has been booked at Hennepin County Jail.

Neighbors said Razo lived at the home with her husband, daughter and mother. Police said the man who died also lived at the home but police haven't confirmed if it was Razo's husband.

Police are still investigating what happened leading up to the 911 call. Neighbors said they didn't see anything unusual until the ambulance showed up.

A friend of Razo's described her as a caring, sympathetic and wonderful person. She also said lately Razo's family had been struggling financially.
