Man Killed In Meeker Co. Crash IDed
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota State Patrol identified the man killed after running a stop sign in Meeker County Thursday morning.
The State Patrol said Jay Bekius, 45, failed to stop at a stop sign on County Road 18 and was hit by another vehicle going north on Highway 15.
Bekius died on the scene. The State Patrol said that he was not wearing a seat belt and there wasn't an airbag.
The person in the other car, Ahmed Ahbdi Ahmed, 55, was injured and airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center. His condition is not known.
Officers said alcohol did not play factor in the crash.
