Fire Damages Brooklyn Park Home

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (WCCO) – Fire officials in Brooklyn Park are investigating a fire that started on the deck of a four plex early Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to the incident shortly after midnight on the 8600 block of South Maplebrook Circle.

The fire extended and was contained to the roof and chimney area of the house. Officials said water and smoke damage was found inside the unit and three surrounding units of the complex needed to be ventilated but didn’t appear to have damage.

The Brooklyn Park Fire Department said the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, and arson is not ruled out at this time.
