Police ID Brooklyn Park Shooting Victim
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities have identified the teenage girl who was shot and killed outside a Brooklyn Park apartment complex late Thursday night.
Police identified the girl as 17-year-old Jennifer Scott of Champlin.
Authorities responded to a report of a shooting at about 10:46 p.m. Thursday at the Huntington Place Apartments, located in the 5800 block of 73rd Avenue in Brooklyn Park.
When police arrived, they found Scott lying near a car in the parking lot outside the complex. Scott was pronounced dead in the parking lot at about 11:09 p.m.
Authorities said Scott died of a gunshot wound to the head and have ruled the death a homicide. No arrests have been made at this time and the incident remains under investigation by Brooklyn Park Police and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.
