COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio’s attorney general is backing former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s run for the White House.

Mike DeWine says in a written statement Monday that he’s endorsing the Republican’s 2012 presidential bid because he believes Pawlenty understands how to improve the health care system without what he calls “unconstitutional mandates.”

DeWine — a Republican and former U.S. senator — successfully pushed for Ohio to join 25 other states in a lawsuit to block the new federal health care overhaul. The lawsuit claims the law violates people’s rights by forcing them to buy health insurance.

GOP state Auditor David Yost also has endorsed Pawlenty.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich told reporters Monday he has yet to decide who will get his support. The first-term Republican governor says he’s playing hard to get.

The Attorney General of Ohio? WHO CARES?!?!? I hear there’s a ditch-digger in Arkansas and a janitor in Mississippi who supports Pawlenty as well. What do these two clowns have in common with the Ohio AG, you ask? None of them has a clue about what Pawlenty did to put the MN economy in the toilet before he left office. Must be a slow news day today…

“Unconstitutional mandates” A quote from the man who was convicted in district court in Minnesota for doing just that!. Talk about a pants on fire candidate.Tim Pawlenty is the last man on earth you want at the helm.If you value the lives and heath of your elderly, sick or disabled relatives and friends.Put Tim Pawlenty 12/30/2009 on your search immediately to get the truth!

Agree – Ohio AG must be on drugs. TP made another joke appearance (lies and untruths) on Meet the Press yesterday. Can’t believe he actually believes what he says. Different memories than what the facts say.

That and he’s never been to Minnesota since TPAW ran it… into the ground.
