Help Send ‘Petey’ And ‘Coley’ On A Baseball Road Trip
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Seven days, three major league stadiums in the Midwest. It may sound like a dream trip for any baseball fan. Your vote could help one Twin Cities couple hit the road.
Full disclosure, we work with Peter Nelson, also known as “Petey.” He controls the crews at WCCO-TV on the assignment desk. But, it’s his love of the Twins that you might say controls his life.
He met his match when he met Nicole Lind, also known as “Coley.”
“It wasn’t until I met Peter I found out how much he hates the White Sox I just want to throw it in his face,” Lind said.
Beyond baseball, the two share a passion for video production.
“Throw in baseball, take out the White Sox and it’s a perfect match,” Nelson said.
Their latest project has them competing for a week-long trip with stops at three games, including two Twins’ games, that will fall on a special week. It will be their one-year anniversary. Their movie making won’t end if they hit the road. Every day they have to make new material to compete for the grand prize.
“It’s nice because the people who vote for us in the beginning get to follow us the whole way,” Lind said.
So, they are asking for your vote, and so are we so Petey will get back to work.
If they win, Coley has promised Petey she’ll become a Twins fan and they’ll first watch a game at Target Field, then drive to Chicago to see the Cubs play and finally to Cleveland.
