Authorities ID Minneapolis Drowning Victim

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have identified the man who drowned in a pool at a Minneapolis apartment complex on Wednesday.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as 50-year-old Charles Chamblis. The medical examiner ruled his death as an accidental drowning.

Authorities were called at about 2 p.m. Wednesday to an apartment complex on the 2200 block of Franklin Avenue East in Minneapolis on a report of a man unconscious in a swimming pool. Medical personnel performed CPR on the victim at the scene and transported him to Hennepin County Medical Center.

He was pronounced dead at about 2:53 p.m. The incident remains under investigation.
