Police Looking For Suspect After Assault With Gun

RICE LAKE, Wis. (WCCO) – Authorities in Rice Lake, Wis., are looking for a 22-year-old suspect after he apparently assaulted and threatened another man with a handgun.

The incident happened at about 4:01 p.m. Thursday. Police were dispatched to a physical altercation between two men at a Rice Lake apartment complex, and it was reported that a handgun was displayed.

When authorities arrived, the suspect had fled the scene. Police executed a search warrant at the suspect’s home and seized a 9 millimeter handgun. Authorities later learned the suspect used the gun to bludgeon and threaten a 43-year-old man. That man was treated for injuries at a local hospital and later released.

Police said the incident remains under investigation.
