The Good Life For Less: 5 Tips To Save On Travel (Tip 5)

Good things come to those who wait, but when it comes to travel deals, we're used to the fact that you have to act quickly to snatch them up. That's not true anymore, according to Mary Song, founder of discount travel site Yuupon.com.

Tip 5: Don't Let Scheduling Stop You

Song says, "It's not a deal if you have to stress about it."

I agree. If you have to spend hours plunked in front of your computer -- comparing each flight and hotel -- or purchase it in a hurry, only to worry that you can't cancel it, it might not be worth it.

Song said people think that locking down the best deal means 24 hours to buy, few cancellation options, and of course, the need to commit to travel dates right away, before you've even confirmed time-off with your work or fellow travelers because the deal might be gone tomorrow.

She said her site, Yuupon.com offers savings of up to 50-90 percent to popular destinations without the all pressure. Yuupon lets you buy the deal now and choose your travel dates later. You can also cancel up until the day before expiration and take up to two weeks to purchase your vacation.

Similar travel sites, like LivingSocial Escapes and SniqueAway.com, offer great flexible trip options, too. You have lots of choices when it comes to booking that dream getaway.
