Weather Blog: Steamy Hot

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Our weather will be very hot and muggy the next several days. An excessive heat warning is in effect until late Wednesday for much of Minnesota and Wisconsin, including the Twin Cities metro area.

Afternoon and evening heat indexes of 105 or greater are expected, and overnight lows will only drop into the upper 70s to lower 80s in many spots.

Heat exhaustion and heat stroke will be possible, so we'll have to limit strenuous outdoor activities and it would be a good idea to check in with friends or relatives that do not have air conditioning.

You can go to the WCCO.com Heat Resources Page for tips on coping with this heat wave. A few thunderstorms could glide across northern and central MN into northern Wisconsin at times this weekend into early next week.

You can get the latest weather information here at WCCO.com and on WCCO-TV and Newsradio830wcco.
