4-Year-Old Drowns In Stearns County
CLEARWATER, Minn. (AP) -- Stearns County sheriff's deputies say a 4-year-old girl reported missing in a Clearwater park apparently drowned in a lake there.
Deputies were dispatched to Warner Lake Park shortly before 8 p.m. Monday on a report of a missing child. Authorities say the girl was at the park with her mother and was missing for 10 to 15 minutes before sheriff's dispatchers received a call.
Bystanders on the beach helped search for the girl. One of them spotted her in about 5 feet of water about 30 feet from shore and brought her to land. Paramedics took over CPR when they arrived.
The child, identified as Alyssa Aicher, was taken by air to a hospital in St. Cloud where she was pronounced dead.
