Man Dies While Paragliding At Family Gathering

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man died when the parachute on his paraglider got tangled in a tree branch and he crashed into a parked vehicle last weekend.

Michael Rademacher from Brainerd, Minn. was at a family gathering in Clear Lake Township Saturday when it happened, according to Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott.

Brott said Rademacher, 54, had been flying for about 10 minutes before the accident occurred -- just before 5 p.m.

It happened in the 6900 block of River Road.

Family and rescue workers performed CPR, but weren't able to revive him.

Rademacher was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
