WORTHINGTON, Minn. (AP) -- A collision between a boat and a Jet Ski on a lake in southwestern Minnesota has killed a South Dakota college student and injured one of her friends.

Nobles County sheriff's officials say 20-year-old Ashley Ann Engel of Sioux Falls died after a jet boat in which she was a passenger was involved in a crash with a Jet Ski Monday afternoon on Lake Okabena in Worthington.

Former Lincoln High School classmate, 20-year-old Tess Reit, was injured and airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital. Her condition was not released. Authorities say a 20-year-old Sibley, Iowa man was driving the boat and suffered minor injuries. Friends say the man was Engel's boyfriend. The ArgusLeader says the 21-year-old man driving the Jet Ski was not injured. Engel was a student at Dakota State University.
