MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have recovered a body that was spotted Tuesday morning in the Mississippi River near the 3rd Street bridge in Minneapolis.

A witness at the scene saw a body in the river at about 10 a.m. and called police. Minneapolis Police, Minneapolis fire officials and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has yet to determine the exact cause of the person’s death as well as release the person’s identity.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating the incident and it doesn’t yet know the circumstances of the person’s death.
