Ex-DEA Officer Gets 25 Years For Making Child Porn

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- A former investigator with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for producing child pornography.

Forty-nine-year-old Scott James Whitcomb of Zimmerman was sentenced Thursday.

He had pleaded guilty earlier this year, admitting that between 2007 and 2010 he made videos containing images of three boys. Two of them were between the ages of 12 and 16 and one was younger.

Court documents say he had invited the boys to his house to play video games, then eventually began abusing them and taping it. He was busted in an undercover operation last August.

The Star Tribune reports Whitcomb spoke in court during his sentencing. He apologized for his actions and hoped the victims and families would someday forgive him.
