16-Year-Old Dies On Island Lake
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- A 16-year-old is dead after hitting his head on a boat and slipping underwater in St. Louis County.
The county sheriff's department says a 16-year-old was swinging from a rope swing when he hit his head on nearby boat at about 5 p.m. Friday on Island Lake.
Numerous people tried to help him but he slipped underwater and wasn't immediately found.
Rescue workers located him about three hours later. His identity is not being released until his family his notified.
