North Dakota Releases 2011-12 Hockey Schedule
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) -- The University of North Dakota hockey team this season will play traditional WCHA rivals Minnesota and Wisconsin and also nonconference games against such perennial national powers as Maine and Harvard.
UND released its 2011-12 schedule on Monday. It features 35 regular season games including 20 at home and one at a neutral site -- a Jan. 7 matchup against Clarkson at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, home of the NHL's Jets.
UND is coming off a season in which it won the WCHA regular season and playoff championships and advanced to its fifth NCAA Frozen Four in seven years. The Fighting Sioux open the regular season Oct. 7-8 when they play host to the Ice Breaker Tournament, which also will feature Boston College, Michigan State and Air Force.
