Moorhead Police Find Dog That Bit Woman

MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) — Moorhead police say a woman who said a dog bit her as she waited for a bus gave incorrect information to officers.

The 52-year-old woman reported the attack Wednesday. Officers began looking for the animal to check its vaccination records.

In a follow-up interview Thursday, the woman acknowledged that she did not give correct information to police. She now says she was in a friend’s home looking at a pit bull cross which had day-old puppies. She says the dog bit her while she was trying to pet the puppies.

The dog’s owner was unable to provide vaccination records. The dog and her pups are now in the city pound for observation.

Police plan to forward their reports to prosecutors to review possible charges, including filing a false police report.

Make her clean up dog poo at the dog parks for her community service sentence that is if she gets charged for a crime.

  2. DUH says:

So why did the owner lose the mom and her pups? Of course the woman was bit as she touched the pups, duh… the mom was trying to protect her pups! This is NOT the dogs fault, it’s the womans fault for touching the pups.

The dog has to be quarantined to make sure it doesn’t have rabies. The lady will get the dogs back after the 10 day period. Standard procedure for when someone reports a dog bite and there are no records of up to date vaccines. Even if the woman who was bit was an idiot.

  3. Jean says:

She lied to the Police. She should be charged for that. Idiot!

  4. EH says:

Here we go again, another story about a pit bull biting someone that was completely brought on by the individual. Common sense, the mother will always protect her pups, regardless of the breed!

    1. Rico Suave says:

Evidently only Pit Bull are having puppies. Sorry you like one of the breeds that most often bites, and actually kills children and even adults. But please don’t compare a Pit Bull to other more docile breeds, less prone to vicious attack. This is way beyond anecdotal evidence. Pit bulls and a hand full of other breeds are more prone to attacking. Deal with it. You people are as bad as Holocaust deniers.

The really nice thing about Pits is that they require no training whatsoever. You don’t even have to say sic ’em! They just automatically tear out your jugular vein along with half of your neck. With most breeds that requires years of training. So it’s kind of a glass is half full way of looking at it, right?
