Scouts Explore Space, Talk To Astronauts At Fort Snelling

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s not every day you get a chance to meet an astronaut — or talk to them in space.

Boy and girl scouts got together at the new Northern Star Boy Scout Council’s base camp at Fort Snelling.

They tried out some flight simulation and experienced what it’s like to be in mission control. Then they had a chance to ask questions live into space.

The scouts experience at Tuesday’s event will go toward their work on a merit badge in space exploration.

Watch the video above to see their experience.
