Gov. Dayton Promotes Aide To Serve As Top Lawyer

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Gov. Mark Dayton has promoted an assistant chief of staff to be his new top lawyer.

Dayton's office said Wednesday that Micah Hines will serve as general counsel for his office.

Hines joined the administration in February, managing special projects and staffing several executive councils. Her experience also includes working at two law firms and an insurance company. State records show that Hines was admitted to the Minnesota bar in 2007.

She succeeds Peter Wattson, who retired last month after more than four decades of state government service.
