$1.4M In Cocaine Smuggled In Diaper Boxes

BELOIT, Wis. (AP) -- Drug agents have arrested a Beloit couple they say was transporting $1.4 million worth of cocaine in large diaper boxes.

The State Line Area Narcotics Team says the cocaine was found after an Illinois state trooper pulled the couple over for speeding and incorrect lane usage in Rockford on Saturday.

The trooper summoned a drug-sniffing dog to search the vehicle after becoming suspicious of the couple. Authorities say about 10 kilograms of cocaine was found.

The Beloit Daily News says the 30-year-old man and 27-year-old woman are being held in Winnebago County Jail in Illinois.
