RICHFIELD (WCCO) — A motorcyclist who died after losing control and crashing during Wednesday evening’s commute has been identified.

Thomas Kientzle, 43, of Apple Valley was killed when his motorcycle ran off the road into a cable median barrier in Richfield, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. on Highway 77 just north of 66th Street.

The State Patrol said Kientzle was riding a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Hwy. 77 when traffic slowed abruptly. He then quickly stopped, lost control and ran off the road into the cable median barrier.

odd, no mention about if he was wearing a helmet. Does that imply he was since this site only reports when people die without a helmet.
