Hardy’s Homer Powers Orioles Past Twins 4-1

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — J.J. Hardy homered against the team that traded him in the offseason, Zach Britton won for the first time in 10 weeks and the Baltimore Orioles snapped a five-game losing streak by beating the Minnesota Twins 4-1 on Monday night.

Matt Wieters also homered, Ryan Adams added an RBI after being recalled from Triple-A Norfolk and Nick Markakis delivered an RBI double.

Kevin Gregg pitched the ninth for his 18th save.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire and third baseman Danny Valencia were ejected by plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt in the eighth inning after Valencia struck out.

    I hope everyone realizes that despite all the injuries that the Twins have had this is what the team is going to look like for the next several years a bunch of AAA players because they will dump everyone with big salaries and go with the cheap players because of Mauer’s contract.
    Everyone has complained that the Twins are bad this year because of all the injuries well this will be the same team next year and the year after only probably worse because they won’t have Thome, Kubel, Cuddyer, Nathan,
    Capps and maybe a few more.
