Police ID 2 Found Dead In Anoka County Murder-Suicide

MINNEAPOLIS  (WCCO) –Police have identified the two people found dead in a murder-suicide in Linwood Township Friday.

Officers said Laura Hulke, 51, and her husband, Todd Hulke, 53, were found dead in their Anoka County home on Friday morning.

Police were called to the home on the 23000 block of Nebula Street NE for a welfare check after Todd Hulke didn’t show up for work.

Officers said the investigation suggests that Todd Hulke killed his wife then took his own life.

Both died from a single gun-shot wound to the head. Police also said Todd Hulke left a note.

There was no history of domestic abuse calls to the home, but an acquaintance of the couple said there was a history of problems in the marriage.

Is life so bad that this is an answer????? I have been through hell and back but no thought of ending it. There are things in this world that are beautiful and things that are ugly, but we wake up breathing for a reason, just need to find that. As far as him shooting his wife then himself, well i hope he has to spend eternity with her cause love always prevails.

What exactly is your last sentence supposed to mean?

They’re already dead. I think he figured out how to solve the “eternity” part of their marriage, already, thus the ending we’re reading about.

      What am I missing here?

  • Brian

    Agreed. Very sad.

This is why mental screening is as important as cancer screening. Too bad they don’t report on the entire situation because there could have been solutions to problems that they had and others can/could/will relate too, so more people don’t take the same path in the future. Some times it just people don’t know where to turn – but there is always a better answer than killing yourself or someone else.

It’s time to stop your weak comments & get back to your job search.

Sad story, but it is MURDER, Suicide. This poor woman had no say in her ending, this man probably always made every decision for her and now he made the final one as well. I don’t know if he is a mental case or not, some people are just plain mean. I am sure she deserved more, he could have just ended it all for himself. I hope that they had no children.

how do you know it wasn’t a sucide pact, and both wanted out.

Did you ever think that maybe his life was falling down around him and he didn’t know how to deal with it??? Everyone that makes comments on here should think about both of the families that are dealing with this before they make comments about the situation. If you dont know them or the situation you should keep your comments to yourself!!! The man in this story is my uncle and one of the most caring people in the world. May you both rest in peace…you both will be missed very much

Just heard about this today. I dated Laura just after my senior year of high school. Sad indeed. I pray for the families…

Just heard about this. I was good friends with Laura in HS. She was a fun person. Her love for horses was amazing. She turned me on to some neat music when we were HS I still listen to today.
