Weather Blog: July’s Heat Returns

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — We will start our Tuesday on a wet note as a line of showers and thunderstorms crosses the state, but by the afternoon we will have sunshine, heat and nasty humidity.

The air will ride a southerly wind ahead of an advancing cold front. Expect highs in the 90s with dew points in the low 70s. That means it could feel like 100 degrees or higher in towns across southwestern Minnesota and the Twin Cities.

Hang in there, relief will come late as a cold front passes the region. By Wednesday the wind will shift (blowing from the northwest) and bring in cooler and drier air.

The first day of the state fair looks wonderful.

Enough already. God please send us snow. In my 61 years this is the worst summer ever.
