Authorities: Alcohol A Factor In Head-On Crash

BALDWIN TOWNSHIP, Minn. (WCCO) -- Two people were injured in a head-on crash Monday night and authorities said alcohol was a factor.

A woman was driving northbound on 128th Street in Baldwin Township around 7 p.m. when she saw a car coming towards her, driving in her lane, according to the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office.

The woman tried to swerve but was unable to avoid the crash. She was transported to Fairview Northland Hospital and is listed in stable condition.

The Sheriff's Office said the driver of the vehicle in the wrong lane, 67-year-old Rodney Cook of Princeton, Minn., was injured in the crash and airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center. He is listed in stable condition.

Authorities said the crash is still under investigation and they suspect alcohol to be a contributing factor in the crash.
