Minot Natives To Open For Black Eyes Peas

MINOT, N.D. (AP) -- Minneapolis-based rockers Charlz Newman will open up for the Black Eyed Peas during next month's Minot Rising concert.

The Sept. 3 concert is to benefit flood recovery efforts in the Minot area.

Two of the tree members of Charlz Newman are Minot natives.

All proceeds from Minot Rising will go to the Minot Area Community Foundation - Recovery Fund.

Actor and Minot native Josh Duhamel is the honorary chairman for the Recovery Fund, which helps Minot and the surrounding area in its long-term flood recovery needs. Duhamel is married to Fergie, the lead singer of The Black Eyed Peas.

More information about Minot Rising can be found at MinotRising.com.

An estimated 20 percent of Minot sustained damage from the historic flooding this summer.
