Woman Shot In Back In St. Paul

ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- A woman is in the hospital after she was shot Wednesday night in St. Paul.

Around 8 p.m., Police were called to the area of Payne Ave. and E. Cook Ave. because neighbors reported seeing several groups of people gathering.

Officers got to the scene and then heard several gunshots. Dozens of the people took off and then police found a woman had been shot in the back.

Police think she was part of one of the groups that had been gathering on the street just before the shooting.

She was brought to Regions Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No one has been arrested yet for the shooting, but police continue to investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Paul Police Homicide Unit at 651-266-5650.
