Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On I-94W
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A motorcyclist is dead after a three-vehicle crash at Interstate 94W and Portland Avenue.
The Minnesota State Patrol said the crash occurred around 2:55 p.m. and the 31-year-old motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Few details have been released about the crash but police say a 2001 Mazda van hit its brakes, causing the motorcyclist to rear-end the van, ejecting the driver. A third vehicle, a 2000 Saturn, then hit the motorcyclist.
The conditions of the other two drivers, a 26-year-old man of New Hope, Minn. and a 47-year-old woman of Minneapolis, were not known.
The Minnesota State Patrol is on the scene investigating. I-94 westbound has been reopened to traffic.
