Man Killed In I-94 Motorcyle Crash ID'd

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have identified a motorcyclist who died in a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Minneapolis.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man Tuesday as 31-year-0ld Edward Jay Dassett.

Authorities said the crash happened at about 2:55 p.m. Monday on Interstate 94 just west of Portland Avenue in Minneapolis. Police said a 2001 Mazda van hit its brakes, causing Dassett to rear-end the van and throwing him off his motorcycle. A third vehicle, a 2000 Saturn, then hit Dassett.

Authorities said Dassett died at the scene of multiple blunt force cranial cerebral injuries.
