Over 1,000 Play Duck, Duck, Goose In Wisconsin

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) -- More than 1,000 people with hopes of smashing a world record gathered in Kenosha for a giant game of Duck, Duck, Goose.

In the end, the 1,103 participants fell short of the record -- set Tuesday night when 1,634 people played the game as part of a back-to-school gathering at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Still, the Kenosha News reports Sunday it took nearly two hours to get the crowd together for Saturday's game. And the circle took up both sides of 6th Avenue for about four blocks.

The idea was inspired by 6-year-old Landrik Wagner, who said he wanted to play the game with "a million people" because his family was too small to play.

The previous record of 1,415 people was set in Guelph, Ontario, in 2005.
