Man, 78, Crashes Paraglider In Bean Field

LONSDALE, Minn. (AP) -- A 78-year-old man is injured after crashing his paraglider into a Rice County bean field.

The county sheriff's department says a deputy found a paraglider about 150 yards into a Lonsdale bean field but no pilot after a call of an aircraft crash at about 8:15 p.m. Monday.

A passer-by later told the deputy he picked up the pilot and drove him to his Rice County residence.

The deputy found John Goodoien, who said he been in the air for about an hour when he lost power and crashed at around 7:20 p.m. He was later taken to the hospital for injuries from the crash.
